With the rapid development of social media,the relationship between fans and stars has changed from one-way interaction to two-way interaction relying on social platform,and the fostering idols represented by TFBoys have gradually entered the audience's vision."Idol cultivation"is a model for Japanese and Korean entertainment industry to create new artists.Its core is to let fans participate in the process of turning vegetarians into stars,to become the backstage pusher of shaping idols,and thus to establish a mimic intimate relationship between idols and fans.Nowadays,with highly developed network audiovisual and audience voice becoming more and more important,the cultivation model of idols begins to rely on the network variety show which is most popular among young people nowadays,as a new position to tap artists.In 2018,Idol Practitioners created by IQY and Creation 101 created by Tencent Video came online one after another,attracting a large amount of capital and flow into the idol market.The emergence of these two online variety shows breaks the decline of domestic idol culture market for many years,and formally opens the era of"standard industrialization"of domestic idol cultivation.The producers of the programs,in conjunction with major brokerage companies,attempt to establish a professional and standardized process of"selection-cultivation-realization".However,the process of standard industrialization is not a success that can be explored overnight.Domestic idol cultivation in the initial stage will inevitably expose some tendency of quick success,instant benefit and consumerism.How to construct the standard organization model of idol industry production,how to avoid the anomie phenomenon in idol industry,how to promote the correct idol aesthetics and value orientation,these are all the problems that need to be solved urgently.In this paper,idol cultivation network synthesis is brought into the perspective of cultural industry to study,from the production level,text content,consumption level and other dimensions,the"idol trainees"and its similar programs are dialectically analyzed.As an important concept first put forward by Frankfurt School to criticize the standardized and uniform mode of mass culture production,cultural industry can help us dialectically look at this batch and standardized idol industry in the modern context.Although the standardized model of idol production strengthens the links among video platforms,brokerage companies,businesses and fans,making fans an important participant in the innovation of cultural industry model in the era of social network,this pipelined idol industry chain also has the characteristics of utilitarian consumerism,which deviates from the correct value orientation.From the perspective of cultural industry theory,this paper systematically discusses the content and form,operation mechanism,market performance and cultural industry function of idol nurturing variety shows.From a dialectical point of view,this paper examines the problems existing in the network variety show of idol cultivation:first,from the content level,the producer blindly caters to the needs of the audience to create pipelined idols,attaches importance to"flow"but does not pay attention to quality;second,from the operational level,the selection mechanism of consumerism and the fault of follow-up training make the program full of criticism;third,from the audience's perspective.Degree analysis shows that audiences gradually lose the ability to distinguish between real and false needs in the mimic intimate relationship,resulting in blindly following the trend of consumption.Examining does not mean negating,and the idol-nurturing variety shows that have achieved good ratings are worth affirming in many ways.The aesthetic value,entertainment function and education function of the program,as well as the integration of online and offline interaction,as well as the new round of fan economy and the upgrade of Chinese idol market are all worthy of attention.However,from the current competitive mechanism of idol cultivation network variety,the lack of innovation in competition system and capital intervention in idol are all obstacles in the process of domestic idol industry.Producers need to slow down the production cycle of idol-nurturing online variety shows and follow-up the cultivation of members of the show in a responsible manner;they also need to open up a diversified track to cultivate more rich idol experience for the audience;they need to parallel"utilitarian"with"public welfare"and transmit social values through idol culture.
