Research On University Library Providing Information Services For Society

The university libraries provides information services for university teachers and students,at the same time,the public library provides the basic cultural services for society.The university libraries should meet the requirements of teachers and students,but,more importantly,it should focus on providing subject services and knowledge services.The university libraries are expected to do well as a social information center,not only to be a information center just in the University.This paper mainly has a deep study on how the university libraries provides information services for society.It has a combination of public service theory and the third party purchase theory,to analyze the problems which often happen in the process of the university libraries providing information services for society.Take Ningbo's university libraries for example,and through further theoretical analysis,we can obtain practicable mechanism of information service delivery.Under the circumstances,academic researchers have conducted a lot of researches on this subject in the perspective of Library Science.This paper selects the government's public service and public information service as study angle,coordinating the relationship between the government,the service recipients and the service providers,aim to developed the possible mechanism on providing public information services.
