The Chinese telecommunication industry started to emerge from 1980 s.The service provided has evolved from the most basic land-line telephone to recent 3G mobile network,promoting mobile internet service.The technology advance is reshaping the way that people communicate.The new service brought by application of 4G network is highly profitable,consequently,attracting investment from service providers in the tele-communication industry.The competition is becoming fierce.In this competition,the management for the telecommunication construction project is playing an important role on determining the safety,quality and cost.It is an essential aspect that the service providers such as China Unicom should pay enough attention.For the project management of a telecommunication construction project,there are several aspects to be addressed.First of all,progress control is a vital aspects.A carefully made time-schedule of the whole project provides guild-line to the following processes,ensuring the project to be put into service on time.This is of great financial importance.Secondly,the organization of the management team should take the unique character of the telecommunication project into consideration.This is for ensuring the fluent communication among different aspect involved in the project.Then,the risk and change management are addressed for dealing with unknow situations.This thesis introduced the project management done for China Unicom Shandong branch carrying out VoLTE project.The discussion is made regarding the aspects of project management addressed above.The tasks carried out is detailed.The project has been successfully finished by the time of the submission of the thesis.
