The science reality show delivers rigorous science in an entertaining way,which not only sublimates the connotation of reality shows,but also inspired the audience to learn science.Since President Xi Jinping emphasized the important position of“scientific popularization” in May 2016,a large number of science reality shows have emerged.However,there are very few of them are influential programs.The Chinese version of "The Brain" is a science reality show with the highest social impact in China.It is imported from Germany.It has always been based on the local perspective in the process of localization in China.It has not only learned the excellent experience of foreign excellent program,but also successfully achieved localization and program revision.Through the analysis of the localization process of the science reality show "The Brain" in China,this paper summarizes the success and shortage of the program,in order to provides suggestions for its long-term development in the future,and provides reference for the same type of programs.At first,this paper defines the science reality show and the related concepts of localization of Chinese TV programs.Then,this paper uses comparative analysis to analyze the two stages of localization of the science reality show "The Brain" in China.Take revision of the program as the boundary,the first four seasons of the program are the first stage,the fifth and subsequent season is the second stage.By comparing and analyzing the elements of the reality show,such as character positioning,program content,art processing and programming,summarize localization transformation ideas of the first stage,analyze the program revision of second stage.Thirdly,based on the analysis of Chinese localization process to summarize its successful experience and shortcomings.Finally,combined with the status quo,propose the outlook of the localization of Chinese version of "The Brain".In general,the Chinese localization of the science reality show "The Brain" is based on a professional local team,focus on the Chinese localization perspective,and adapted to the Chinese audience's viewing habits.Not only integrate Chineseexcellent cultural elements from the outside to the inside,but also carry out all-media marketing with Chinese characteristics.In contrast,the trend of over-entertainment of the program became more and more obvious,and the limited interaction also opened the distance with the audience.In summary,the science reality show "The Brain" must adhere to the roots of Chinese local characteristics,grasp the core of science,and conduct equal and interactive exchanges with the audience,extend the program industry chain to achieve program value-added.What the most important is that the program should achieve internationalization,transmit the power of Chinese science and culture power of China to the world.
