Research On The Media Image Of Yuan Longping

The advanced model is the benchmark of the spirit of the times.The typical character report is an effective weapon for propagating the ideological and cultural front.The mainstream media has always attached great importance to the typical character report.Yuan Longping,known as the "father of hybrid rice",is a typical representative in the field of agricultural science and technology.Since December 17 in 1976,People's Daily reported on Yuan Longping's deeds for the first time.By 2018,Yuan Longping appeared almost in the People's Daily for 42 years.Therefore,the study on the construction and change of Yuan Longping's image in Peopled Daily is of great significance to understand the shaping of the typical characters of science and technology and the changes of political institutions in the past 40 years of reform and opening.Through content analysis,discourse analysis and narratological analysis,this thesis takes the report on Yuan Longping in the People's Daily from 1976 to 2018 as the main sample,and combs the process of the construction and change of Yuan Longping's image,summarizing these reports' characteristics from the number,genre,theme and perspective of the report.The thesis combines with framework theory,takes the narratives analyze from the perspectives of "narrative focus","narrative voice","narrative rhythm" and"narrative strategy",and explore the discourse changes of Yuan Longping's image construction in People's Daily.The study found that Yuan Longping's media image has experienced the image of "country young teacher" who have been tackling difficulties on the eve of reform and opening,and the transition process of "scientist star" with"popularity" in the era of consumerism.The reason is that the change of Yuan Longping's media image is the result of multiple factors such as political context,news concept,cultural ecology and technological change.It is worth noting that Yuan Longping himself has shown a clear self-awareness and subjectivity in the shaping of his image in the media.He has published many articles in the People's Daily,and his articles are mostly focused on responding to public questions and expressing the feelings in his daily scientific research.Therefore,the subjectivity of the shaped person is an important factor in the communication and change of the media image.Finally,this thesis summarizes the contemporary value of Yuan Longping's image and cultural reflection on his image change,in order to provide reference for the media communication of the current image of scientists.
