Noble Heroes For Noble Land:study On The Relationship Between Typical Character Report And Regional Image

Typical character report is one of the traditional news report forms in China.The typical characters can establish social values and educat the public.The image temperament and mental appearance of the people are important indicators that influence the perception and judgment of the regional image by the public outside the region.This paper uses the content analysis method,text analysis method and case study method to conduct a general analysis of the typical character report of the Gansu Daily from 2009 to 2019.By comparing with the development goals,which has mentioned in the documents of the Gansu government these years,the author find that,the regional image of Gansu is presented of politics,economy,culture,society and ecology.It is concluded that the typical character reports of the Gansu Daily from2009 to 2019 still belong to the traditional model under the domination of the propaganda paradigm.The study found that typical character report is the carrier and resource of regional image.Reports of typical people in the propaganda paradigm are likely to cause stereotypes of the regional image.Diversified and personalized reports of typical people in the propaganda paradigm are conducive to the shaping of the regional image.Based on the above conclusions,the author discusses the way to shape the character image and regional image in the reporting of typical characters in the future of the Gansu Daily,and puts forward the following suggestions.First,it is necessary to shape typical character images with the characteristics of the times and regions.Second,it is necessary to shape the image of an ordinary person in terms of thecoexistence of civilians and personalization.Third,it is necessary to dig deep into the resources of traditional and emerging typical characters to promote the regional image.
