Research On The Needs Of Elderly Readers For Public Library Health Information Services

At present,the number of senior citizens in China is growing at an annual rate of 3%,and the number of people over 60 has reached 240 million,accounting for 17.3% of the total population.With the continuous development and progress of China's economic level,the elderly pay more attention to health and have an increasing demand for health information services.They hope to obtain more reliable health information services.As information release center,public library has the function of providing information for people.Research the health information service of public libraries in the older readers demand,contributes to an understanding of the elderly's demand for health information,make public library for the elderly to provide personalized health information service and help,better to provide health information services for the elderly,so as to improve the health of older readers accomplishment and quality of life.In this paper,the research on elderly readers' demand for public library health information service is mainly carried out from five parts:the first chapter is the introduction.In the second chapter,relevant literature at home and abroad is studied.Firstly,relevant concepts involved in this study are defined and sorted out.At the same time,health information needs of the elderly at home and abroad and health information service research of public libraries are sorted out and relevant comments are made.The third chapter describes the research process,the main use of focus group interview method to study the health of the aged readers in public library information service demand,under the premise,according to the first interview to establish the initial interview outline,using the method of one-on-one interviews to collect some data in taiyuan city library,and in the process,gradually change and fine interview outline.Then two focus group interviews were conducted in taiyuan library to collect research data,and the collected data were coded andanalyzed to obtain real and effective research results.The fourth chapter describes and summarizes the research results.The fifth chapter briefly summarizes the research conclusions and puts forward relevant Suggestions.Combined with the analysis of relevant literature and the conclusion of the actual investigation,it is found that the health information needs of the elderly readers are mainly concentrated in six aspects: disease diagnosis and treatment(focusing on the related information of chronic diseases),health care,health care,contradiction between Chinese and western medicine,the latest medical information and national policies;In addition,when using public libraries,elderly readers are more inclined to use paper resources,including newspapers,magazines and books.As for the low utilization rate of electronic resources,they also express that they are willing to use electronic resources with the help of librarians.In addition,the elderly also have a high acceptance of lectures.Finally,the elderly readers put forward Suggestions such as the hope that the public library can increase the collection of health information resources,increase the lectures of health science popularization content,the use of social media and the hope that the public library can expand the health information service mode.By studying the needs of elderly readers for public library health information services,this paper can understand the health information needs of elderly groups and their habits of using libraries,provide scientific basis for social and public library services for elderly groups,and play a good role in promoting the development of public libraries.
