Database Construction And Application Of Natural Disasters In Primary And Secondary Schools In Wenchuan Earthquake Stricken Area

Tens of thousands of people are killed and millions injured every year in frequent natural disasters resulting from the destruction of the ecological environment and the weakening of the stability of the ecosystem brought about by the large population growth along with their excessive consumption of natural resources,which attaches great and urgent significance to preventing and fighting natural adversities,especially those on school children.Sichuan Province is a province with frequent natural disasters.Take the dreadful 5.12 Wenchuan earthquake 10 years ago as an example.It severely affected many places in Mianyang too,among which Beichuan Qiang Autonomous County,Pingwu county and Anzhou district were ranked the 10 extremely heavy disaster areas,and Jiangyou,Zitong County,Yanting County,Youxian District,Fucheng District were among the most serious disaster areas.So Mianyang City was researched as the sample of disaster prevention and disaster reduction.Based on the scientific thought of the earth system,this study focuses on setting up the classification system and metadata standards of natural disasters by collecting and classifying such data as Mianyang's historical disaster data,spatial data,basic geographic information data,social and economic data,the relevant data of primary and secondary schools,and disaster prevention and disaster relief data,fully designing the function and data type,the coding and storage mode,the establishment of the graphic database and attribute database,the interactive query and the statistical analysis of the attribute data by borrowing ideas from the related data of natural disasters home and abroad and using the ArcGIS 10.2platform to organize,and eventually constructing the structure of the natural disaster database and establishing the Natural Disaster Database of the primary and secondary schools in the earthquake stricken area(Mianyang).The research approaches taken in the research include the literature research,data collection and field investigation.The database of natural disaster in Wenchuan earthquakestricken area(Mianyang)can carry out the rapid inquiry of the historical disaster related data of Mianyang,the visualization analysis of historical disaster and the natural disasters risk assessment for Wenchuan earthquake-stricken areas(Mianyang City),which are convenient for the related risk investigation for schools in peacetime and disaster.We will provide qualitative guidance for the site selection for the construction of new primary and secondary schools in the Wenchuan earthquake-stricken area in the future,and provide guidance for the government's investment in regional disaster prevention and reduction.It also provides scientific,accurate and effective guidance and reference for emergency evacuation,post disaster relief and evaluation.In addition,it also creates basic and systematic conditions for the in-depth study of related disasters,enriches the domestic natural disaster database,and provides a certain degree of reducing the risk of natural disasters in primary and secondary schools and increasing the resilience of primary and secondary schools.On the theoretical basis,we should promote the development of disaster prevention and mitigation,and develop a solid defense program for the safety of our future generations.
