The missing of our Media's social momentum becomes a major drawback to Chinese media. In the process of media subjecting to political propaganda, the media's reports about disaster news pay more attention on the demonstrate of people's fighting spirit, and show a pattern of characteristics. However, the reports about Wenchuan earthquake show us the characteristics of timeliness. We also find that media pays more and more attention an the humanism and life consciousness, which makes its social functions realized.Through the specific analysis of the reports on these two earthquakes, we may find four mainly differences, they are genre difference,text difference,idea difference and effect difference. There are three reasons causing these differences, they are political and economic system,the development level of media and the Government's political control of media.Through the study of reports on Tangshan earthquake and Wenchuan earthquake, we can obtaine the following revelations:to report the catastrophic, information disclosure is the important way to ensure people's Right to Know, it could restrict the sepread of rumor or false information effectively and help to set up good government image; At the same time, the media should establish and imporve the long-term mechanism to guide public opinion, form three-dimensional pattern to guide public opinion and imporve the guide level; furthermore, it also should stick media's responsibility to play a good role of early warning,inform and education in the event of disaster.
