Research On The News Production Of Media "Central Kitchen"

Forced by the multiple pressure such as audience loss and declining profits,the central and local media at all levels have actively carried out different levels of integrated exploration practice.After years of convergence transformation attempts,media convergence practices have gradually focused on the “central kitchen”.In January 2017,Liu Qibao clearly pointed out at the signed article published in the People's Daily,"the central kitchen is the 'leader' and 'standard' for promoting in-depth media convergence." However,to truly discover and interpret the value of "central kitchen" as the 'leader' and 'standard' for promoting the in-depth media convergence,the research on "central kitchen" should not be limited to the changes in the production process brought by technology embedding.Therefore,this study takes news production as the main content,starts from the middle layer of sociology of news production,and connects the "central kitchen" as the macro and micro practice of social construction process,and analyzes it with theory of organizational reengineering and field-habitus;In addition to paying attention to the research emphasis of the structural changes of traditional news organizations and the reengineering of collecting and editing processes,it also tries to present the internal relationship between the media and power,institutions,society,etc.,and the production practice applicability of news production subject under the“central kitchen” mechanism.Through participatory observation and in-depth interviews,this study finds that different fields have different effects on construction of “central kitchen” by media,in which political power is the main driving force for the construction of “central kitchen”;Secondly,under the central kitchen mechanism,the editorial department field has changed,and the production platform,production mode and production mechanism all showed new characteristics.Finally,the “central kitchen” mechanism requires the habitus of news production subjects to change,however,due to the reason that the initial experience consolidates traditional habitus,news subjects struggled to adapt to the new habitus.the news production subject habitus is “out oftouch” with the news production in the central kitchen.The production subject is able to carry out the news production by embedding traditional production mode and production concepts into the “central kitchen”.
