The Internet has brought huge amounts of information,but also serious information overload.It is difficult for people to have sufficient time to screen out effective information from the vast amount of information,and the useful information they can get is even more scarce.With the acceleration of knowledge updating,practitioners in all walks of life also need to improve their quality and ability through continuous learning.At the same time,many people also have a certain degree of knowledge anxiety.Scarcity is the first quality of content-paid products.Only scarce is what the market is chasing.In the new media era,content homogeneity is serious.High-quality content is scarce content,and it will inevitably become the mainstream choice.It will become the general trend that high-quality content overcomes the information anxiety of the times.In the increasingly depressed situation of paper media,news payment may be the best cash flow mode.This paper takes "news payment" as the research object,and takes Chinese and foreign traditional paper media as an example.Starting from the rise and development process of news payment and payment wall,it analyses the current situation and predicament of the application of news payment at home and abroad.Then,the paper discusses and compares the practice of news payment between Chinese and foreign newspapers.Taking the New York Times and Wall Street Journal of the United States,the Guardian of the United Kingdom,The Correspondent of the Netherlands,the People's Daily,the Beijing News,the Southern Newspaper Group,Wenzhou Newspaper Group and the Financial New Media as examples,it summarizes the practice of the payment wall model between Chinese and foreign newspapers.It also points out the reasons for the difference of news payment between China and foreign countries.Based on the summary of the experience of Chinese and foreign newspaper media in the practice of payment wall,the author separately embarks from two perspectives:comprehensive newspaper media and professional newspaper media.Finally,the paper puts forward the optimization strategy of the payment wall model for the development of traditional newspaper media in China.The optimization strategies of comprehensivenewspaper and magazine media are to guard against the over-commercialization of news and insist on taking journalistic professionalism as the core;to scientifically formulate payment standards to improve the personalized needs of users;to establish real contacts with users and to play a good role as gatekeepers;and to appeal to relevant departments to formulate more stringent copyright protection laws totalling four.The optimization strategies of professional newspaper and magazine media include subdividing content service areas and continuously cultivating high-quality content;establishing brand awareness and improving interaction with users;improving the payment wall model and continuously optimizing the process of payment subscription;and utilizing professional advantages to establish their own mobile terminal platforms.In the future,domestic media should divide and rule in the field of news payment.Vertical professional media should focus on online payment content,and large comprehensive media should continue the free mode before.
