With the rapid development of science and technology,phase-locked loop(PLL)has become a core technology in modern communications,aerospace,precision instrumentation and other electronic fields.Phase noise is an important indicator of PLL and has received widespread concern in the industrial and academic,PLL systems with low phase noise can improve the accuracy of satellites positioning,the quality of image information transmission,and reduce the one bit error rate of data transmission in communication systems,It can promote the development of other related fields and produce huge economic benefits.Therefore,research on phase noise of PLL and how to accurately measure it have gradually received widespread attention from the society.First,this paper briefly introduces the basic working principle and the dynamic working process of the PLL.Through the means of software simulation,it can directly describe PLL's time-frequency characteristics and the phase noise characteristics of the loop,Meanwhile,Some specific applications of is introduced in the end.Then,the power-law spectral model of the PLL's device noise is studied.The leastsquares algorithm is used to verify the research conclusion that the noise of PLL's device conform to power-law spectral model,and then.Based on the transmission mechanism of device noise in PLL,a phase noise model of PLL is constructed,a new phase noise simulation method in accordance with the power law model of device noise is proposed and is proven to be effective by comparing with the measurement results of PLL's phase noise.Based on the research conclusions,some constructive suggestions for reducing the phase noise of the PLL frequency synthesizer circuit are proposed.Finally,this paper analyzes the application of PLL in the phase noise measurement system of phase discrimination method.At the same time,the mechanism of the lowfrequency defect phenomenon caused by loop bandwidth and the compensation method of this phenomenon is also studied.The mechanism of the effect of loop device noise on the phase noise measurement results of the phase detection method is proposed.On this basis,a correction algorithm for the loop device noise is proposed.This method can theoretically improve the accuracy of the phase noise measurement system which is verified by the ADS and MATLAB simulation.
