Study On Problems And Countermeasures Of WeChat Official Platform Of Normal University Library In China

Tencent Company launched a free application program called Wechat Official Platform,in order to provide instant messaging services for intelligent terminals on August 23,2012.As the most influential content platform,the Wechat Official Platform has the characteristics of diversification of information presentation,optimization of information content,and precision of dissemination.At present,it has already been used widely in various industries and government departments to publish information.Wechat Official Platform has become a relatively common carrier of library services for users.This paper summarizes the definition,characteristics and main functions of Wechat and Wechat Official Platform.Meanwhile,it summarizes the significance of using Wechat Official Platform in libraries from two aspects of libraries and readers,conducts a comprehensive survey of the construction and use of Wechat Official Platform in all 119 public Normal University Libraries in mainland of China.On the basis of the investigation,this paper summarizes the current situation of the construction and utilization of Wechat Official Platform in the libraries of Normal Universities in China from the aspects of situation,opening time,regional distribution,utilization,certification,platform name and head image.On the basis of a comprehensive and in-depth analysis of the current situation,it is found that there are still many problems in the construction of Wechat Official Platform in the libraries of Normal Universities in China,including people who are the aims to serve,service content,the vague orientation of business content as well as service function.The service content and service function are not determined reasonably according to the main service objects.The design of platform's name is not standardized,which can easily cause confusion for readers to search and use the resources.The classification of columns of custom menus is not clear enough,which brings inconvenience to readers in searching information and the low setting rate of customized preset reply causes the waste of platform function.Some platforms have low rate of utilization with shell account and zombie account.The Wechat Official Platform in the libraries of Normal Universities which are in different levels and regions provides the same service content,lacking characteristics and individuality.And the libraries do not provide high-level services such as subject services,reference services,topic tracking,etc.through the platform.Besides,the interaction with readers is not fluency.Questions are not timely answered for readers.The content updates are slow and so on.In view of the above shortcomings,the Wechat Official Platform in the libraries of Normal Universities in China should raise awareness of the importance of the platform,seize the opportunities for library development brought by the application of this new information technology,formulate rules and regulations for platform management,ensure the orderly operation of the platform,build a special management team,standardize services,and provide characteristic services as well as personalities in the future construction.At the same time,the Wechat Official Platform in the libraries of Normal Universities in China should deepen the service level and improve the service quality.In a word,under the good situation that our country has entered a new era,the libraries should actively use the new carrier and means of Wechat Official Platform to enter a new journey,providing new services and accomplishing the new missions.
