The Study On Private Book-collection Of Hunan In Qing Dynasty

China is an ancient civilization country with a long history and a popular culture of collecting and reading books.The collection of books is the result of cultural accumulation,and also the ladder of cultural development.In five thousand years history,China had accumulated numerous books and formed four library systems,including governmental book-collection,private book-collection,academic book-collection and temple book-collection.Among the four,private book-collection was numerous and spreaded all over the country,so it was more accessible to readers.It not only kept a large number of books but also made great contributions to academic progress and talents training.The private book-collection in the Qing Dynasty played an important role in Hunan's whole book-collection business.After more than one thousand years development,Hunan had accumulated rich experience and formed strong atmosphere of collecting books in the Qing Dynasty.Large number and large scale of books had exceeded any other dynasties',which enabled Hunan being ahead in the whole country.Based on studying the information of more than 50 bibliophiles and combining with the social environment of Hunan at that time,this paper mainly uses the literature research method,comparative analysis method and induction method to demonstrate the private book-collection's basic situation of Hunan in the Qing Dynasty,including the background and overview of the prosperity of bibliotheca,bibliophiles' life,bibliotheca management,bibliotheca characteristics,bibliotheca contribution and so on.This paper analyzes the regional features and the important significance for cultural inheritance and social progress,shows colorful culture and summarizes the historical contribution of Hunan's private book-collection in Qing Dynasty in all aspects and multiple levels.Studying the book-collection basic information of ancient times can provide reference for the development of library career today.People created civilization,and bibliophiles protected civilization.While drinking water,don't forget its source.So while we enjoy the benefits of books,we shouldn't forget the bibliophiles who protected books painstakingly,deliberately and conscientiously.They made great contributions for the past and present librarianship,which is worth remembering.And their spirit is also worthy of our inheritance and development.
