Ningbo has a long history of private collection about books, the collection business has experienced more than a thousand years of development and accumulation. The collections of Qing Dynasty stick out once again following the Song Yuan Ming to prosperity in Ningbo. Disregarding being the quantity of bibliophiles and the scale in collection of books, still being on collection of books content and quality, are all in the ascendant to any generation of the Song Yuan Ming, reach peak among Ningbo private collection of books in the ancient times. Many bibliophiles having an impotant effect in the whole nation have already appeared, such as Huang Zongxi, Wan Sitong, Zheng Xing, Quan Zuwang, Huang Chengliang, Lu Zhi, Cai Hongjian. The phenomenon of thriving private collection is comprehensively influenced by the politics, economy, culture and other factors.This paper uses the method of literature study and structured interciew, analyzes reasons for the prime of private collection in basic of exposition and researches about the history of private collection in the Qing Dynasty in Ningbo, and finally comments the characteristics and historical contribution of Ningbo private collections in the Qing Dynasty.
