As the longest and most influential Chinese newspaper published in modern China, the Shun Pao not only occupies an important position in the history of Chinese journalism, but also has a place in the history of Chinese culture and the history of publishing.Xu zhucheng once commented that the Shun Pao was a detailed record of China's modern history and was full of the Chinese people's bitterness, natural disasters,man-made disasters, and the twists and turns, failures, and victories of the revolutionary struggle. It left abundant material for the study of news history. From December 1941 to August 1945 during the Pacific War,the Shun Pao was controlled by Japanese imperialism. As a newspaper, although the Shun Pao of this period still retains the track of the old the Shun Pao to some extent, the Shun Pao at this time has become a tool for public opinion of the Japanese imperialist aggressors. It is a notorious history in the history of the Shun Pao.Therefore, the scholars in the current academic circles pay less attention to the Shun Pao during this period. This article examines the history of the Shanghai press before and after the Japanese control of the Shun Pao and displays a diverse historical background. It was based on the evaluation of the social assessment by the agency publis hed by Chen Binhe and the director during the Shun Pao period from Decemb er 1942 to August 1945.At the stage of the overall characteristics of each stage, editorial means, changes in trends, etc.,to understand how Japanese impe rialism in the late stage of the war of aggression through the Chinese public o pinion organs to subconsciously carry out ideological infiltration and cultural in vasion, how to interpret the situation at home and abroad, wartime pro-Japanese propaganda. This study finds that the attitude shown in the Shun Pao editorial was a reaction to the ideology behind it,and was also affected by the domestic and international situation at that time.Japanese imperialism attaches great importance to intelligence and media, and focuses on the manipulation and use of public opinion.Wartime propaganda also has its own unique behavioral trajectory. Not only in the wartime, but in today's international communication field,“communist warfare” and “ideological warfare” have become more and more intense in the contacts and games of various countries.Studying this issue of the Shun Pao editorial has important implications for us to understand the newspaper running mode, news concept, public opinion orientation, and political attitude of the Japanese imperialism's newspapers and magazines. It helps us to understand the media's public opinion orientation and propaganda effects.Be wary of the phenomenon of cultural penetration through media operations in international relations. At the same time,it can further enrich the history of the news dissemination during the Republic of China, the history of the War of Resistance, and the research results.
