Design And Implementation Of Restaurant Management System For Small And Medium Hotels

With an old saying “human beings treat food as the most important thing”,China has a long history of cuisine culture.Dining is not only for getting full,but also plays an important part in communication and social intercourse.Against such a background,Chinese cuisine industry has undergone one and another revolutions,during which new food companies are born and some old ones are wiped out.Every company thinks about how to upgrade its comprehensive competitiveness to win the competition.However,increasing house rent and labor cost,shortage of management personnel and internal disunity hinder the food companies' advance.In such conditions,company management seeks help from information management to improve internal management,unite internal resources and enlarge company sales volume.Based on the actual requirements of food companies and a comparison and study among food management systems both at home and abroad,this thesis properly arranges and designs the functions of the management system through systematic analysis methods after visiting and surveying many food companies.This management system for small and medium sized restaurants adopts ASP.NET technology and database technology and is developed via B/S three-layer structure.It can manage food companies' internal work and can also do on-line sales,thus realizing operation and management of on-line shop and off-line shop at the same time.It contains eight modules such as website application,hall management,kitchen management,order information management,data accumulation and analysis,which can not only improve staff working efficiency,reduce mistakes caused by human errors during procedures,such as manual financial settlement and order passing so as to upgrade service quality,but also can advertise company culture and opens an on-line sales channel.Thus the competitiveness of the company is strengthened and safeguards its long-lasting development.
