Russian Media' Perception Of The Belt And Road Initiative

The Belt and Road Initiative is a grand vision of opening up and cooperation between countries along the line proposed by President Xi Jinping at the end of 2013.As a long-term and friendly strategic partner of China,the proposal of this initiative has a profound impact on the development of relations between China and Russia.With the Belt and Road Initiative has been continuously implemented.The attention of all walks of life in Russia has also continued to heat up.The corresponding Russian media reports are also increasing.In today's world,the media guide and disseminate public opinion and play an important role in the national politics.It can even change government's decision-making to a certain extent.Analyze the Russian media's cognition of the Belt and Road Initiative,which helps to understand the influence of Russian society on the strategy Initiative and a deeper understanding of Russia's position and policy options in the process of Sino-Russian cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative.This article explains the main views of several major mainstream media on the Belt and Road initiative.Based on this,it summarizes the Russian media's cognitive characteristics of the initiative,explores the motivation and influence behind the recognition,Strategic awareness of the status quo,and pointedly put forward the media as the main point of view,to promote the Belt and Road in the construction of Sino-Russian cooperation in the reference countermeasures and suggestions.After text analysis and in-depth discussion of the collected mainstream media reports,we can see that the mainstream Russian media has extensively discussed the Belt and Road Initiative and the reports of the major mainstream media include all the negative aspects of the initiative's intent,content and prospects interpret,and exhibit the characteristics of persistent attention and positive tendency can be seen by these reports.Overall,the Russian mainstream media recognition and support the Belt and Road as well as the cooperation between China and Russia under the initiative,and that will brought development to Russia in all aspects of politics,economy and humanity.Based on this perception of the mainstream Russian media,taking into account the special role of the media in public opinion and government,this paper argues that in the process of implementing the Belt and Road initiative,we should make full use of the media's guiding role and grasp the propaganda orientation and propaganda efforts to properly guide the media and public opinion so as to ensure the smooth and steady development of the Belt and Road initiative in the Sino-Russian cooperation.
