| Since the "Belt and Road" Initiative is proposed by China,it is committed to establishing a new development model of equilibrium and inclusiveness and promoting stable development of the world economy.So the successful implementation of the initiative is of great significance for many countries in the world.As the biggest neighboring country of China and the necessary place of "Belt and Road",Russia is a frontier country for China to carry out the plan smoothly.So it's very important for us to have a deep understanding of Russia's core concern topics and true attitude to this initiative,and to figure out whether Russia has a doubt or gives a strong support,whether it has a sincere participation or a matter of expediency.And through that we can figure out the strategy decision of Russia in its "Belt and Road" cooperation with China and we can take timely and efficient measures to address relevant problems.As the state media of Russia,Russia Today takes up the responsibility of mouthpiece to convey the voice and opinions of Russian government since its founding in 2005.And the TV station has attached great importance to "Belt and Road",at different stages of the initiative and given out signals of Russian government at proper time.So systematic and deep research on reports by Russia Today can make a reflection of Russian government's attitude towards "Belt and Road" to a large extent.In 1993,a US scholar called Entman put forward that news frame has four functions,the first function of frame is problem definition,the second is causal interpretation,the third is moral evaluation and the fourth is solution,which provides people with a set of tool to analyse reporting texts and news events.Given the conformability and effectiveness of this theory and the study about "Belt and Road",this thesis uses four functions of frames as its theoretical structure,and besides the correlation of reporting contents and tendency,the study gives a emphasis on examining the correlation of reporting frame and tendency to analyse the true attitude and intention of Russia towards "Belt and Road".The thesis uses content analysis as its methodology,and takes all of reporting texts about "Belt and Road" on the official website of Russia Today as samples.And quantitative analysis with the help of SPSS and discourse analysis have been used to have a deep exploration of Russia Today's core concern topics and its logic to deal with the initiative.The study examines the correlation of reporting contents(topics,genres and stages about"Belt and Road")and tendency,and the correlation of reporting frames and tendency.Results show that Russia Today creates a kind of neutral and positive environment for public opinion towards the "Belt and Road" Initiative in general.And Russia Today has a significant correlation of reporting theme and tendency,genre and tendency,and stage and tendency respectively in reporting "Belt and Road",which indicates that the tendency of Russia Today is affected hugely by certain theme,genre and stage.These issues,including various pragmatic cooperation between China and Russia,China-Russia friendship and international cooperation on "Belt and Road",have a higher percent of neutral and positive tendency.Moreover,the reporting frame employed by Russia Today is very pragmatical and practical,for the solution-oriented frame accounts for a great proportion,which shows that Russia has a strong desire to strive for cooperation with China faced with "Belt and Road".However,Russia Today falls in the mood of worry and misgivings when the issue of geo-strategy is talked about.Hence,we should make a steady progress of various economic and trade cooperation between China and Russia,make Sino-Russia friendship be an escort of pragmatic cooperation,weaken the political tint of economic issues and be wary of the potential risks behind "Belt and Road" cooperation so that we can handle the problems timely and ensure the equity and stability of all cooperation. |
