With the arrival of the era of big data and cloud computing,the amount of data storage of enterprises has become larger and larger,and the requirements of enterprises for storage have become higher and higher.Enterprises have put forward more requirements on the high availability,scalability,and automation of storage devices.The iSNS(Internet Storage Name Service)protocol is a solution to the current popular iSCSI storage area network.The iSNS protocol effectively solves the management problem in the storage area network in a single network.However,there are still problems such as data coverage and data conflict when the network is split and re-convergence,and there is also a lack of support for multinetwork convergence,and it cannot meet the high requirements of some enterprises on the scalability and high availability of storage area networks.Since the iSNS protocol is essentially a centralized and multi-standby management protocol,and does not provide a merge method and related communication protocols for each data model,direct network convergence can easily lead to data coverage or conflict,and even multiple primary servers coexist.This paper proposes a storage area network convergence method of iSNS protocol,improves the protocol on the basis of compatibility with the original iSNS protocol,and proposes four processes of iSNS network convergence: network discovery,active/standby election,data exchange,and data merge.In the network discovery phase,the timing of network convergence is determined.The roles of each iSNS servers after convergence are determined in the active/standby election phase.The data exchange protocol and data processing method are provided in the data exchange phase and data merge phase.The method realizes the convergence of multiple iSNS networks,solves the problems that occur when the original iSNS network is split and reintegrated,and also enables the iSNS protocol to be extended to multiple network environments.According to the iSNS protocol network convergence method proposed in this paper,multiple authentications and tests were performed on the switches of a well-known domestic network equipment manufacturer.The experimental results show that the convergence method is effective and reliable,supports network splitting and reintegration,and solves the problems of the original protocol.In the test,the convergence time is 3.2 to 5.2 seconds,and the fault recovery time is 1.5 to 3.1 seconds.In terms of reliability,it can meet the practical requirements of enterprises.
