Investigation And Study Of University Museums In Hohhot

Since its appearance,the museum has been inextricably linked with universities.The world's first modern museum,the Oxford Ashmoulin Museum,was born on the university campus.The Nantong Museum,the earliest museum in China,was built at the then Nantong Normal School.Since its development,university museums have gradually become an important part of the museum system in China.In addition to the functions of teaching,research,and collection,they also undertake important responsibilities for serving the public.On the other hand,university museums serve as a window for foreign exchanges and play an important role in popularizing social education and disseminating knowledge and culture.However,most university colleges and universities now face embarrassing situations of “hidden in the depths”.Hohhot is the capital of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and a cultural center where most colleges and universities in Inner Mongolia converge.The Hohhot University Museum can represent the overall situation of the Inner Mongolia University Museum at the level of construction and development.Therefore,this article takes the university museums in Hohhot as the research object,Through field visits and interviews,an in-depth investigation and analysis of the status quo of museums in the four universities in the region was conducted.It reveals the deep reasons for the low popularity of university museums in the region,the small number of visitors,the short opening hours,the low utilization of resources and the shortage of staff.Some Suggestions are put forward to improve the development of the museum in Hohhot.
