Research On The Current Situation Of University Museum Development In China

University museums as part of the universities, the function of them are not only to school teaching and scientific research, but also to enlightenment and service for society. As the window of propaganda and communication, university museums has become one of the university’s image.They are on behalf of the university campus culture. It is said that university museum is the new standard to measure the comprehensive level of colleges and universities. At present, the number of university museums on the Chinese mainland is over300, and more than10university museums increase every year, which have become a new part of the museum system in China and showed the huge development potential. However, university museum are thriving,"deep in the best people don’t know". In addition, the most of their social benefit are limited to a small range. At the same time, due to factors such as funds, management, concept, the construction, management and operation status of the museum cannot meet the demands of a new age. To a certain extent, these problems restrict university museums play a role and develop in the future.Therefore, through the list the contemporary university museums of China,this article analyze the existing reality of university museum, and summarize the characteristics of the university museum. This article comprehensive understanding in the new era, under the new situation of the development of the status, explore the "bottleneck" of the museum in universities, and puts forward the corresponding countermeasures and suggestions.
