Over the past 40 years of reform and opening up,tourism has made rapid progress and made outstanding contributions to national economic and social development.The establishment of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism in 2018 is a powerful measure to promote the in-depth integrated development of culture and tourism at the national strategic level,marking that China has entered a new era of integrated development of culture and tourism.Since the reform and opening up 40 years ago,the number of museums and the number of visitors have shown an amazing growth rate.The number of museums has increased by 14 times,and now the number of museums in China has exceeded 5,000.According to incomplete statistics,the total number of visitors to museums in China in 2012 was only 560 million,and by 2018,the number of visitors to museums of all kinds had exceeded 1 billion.Museums have become an indispensable part of people's cultural life.The Fifth Plenary Session of the Eighteenth Central Committee of the Communist Party of China pointed out that in order to promote the structural reform of the economy,we need to strengthen the structural reform of the supply side while expanding the total demand appropriately.In the report of the Nineteenth National Congress of the Party,General Secretary Xi Jinping pointed out that "socialism with Chinese characteristics has entered a new era,and the main contradictions in our society have been transformed into the contradictions between the people's growing need for a better life and the unbalanced and inadequate development".Under the background of the new era,when the main contradictions of our society change and the main line of supply-side structural reform is clear,how to make efforts from the supply-side to better meet the people's growing needs for a better life has become a new proposition facing to museums,and the tourism commodities in museums are exactly the answer to this question.This paper takes tourism commodities as the research object,and chooses public museum in Hohhot as the case study.Through questionnaire survey on tourists,interviews with museum staff,relevant staff,researchers and tourists of tourism commodity development in museums,and combined with my own field visits,this paper investigated and analyzed the current situation of tourism commodity development in public museums in urban Hohhot.Discover Hohhot city public museum tourism products mainly lack of substantive policy support,tourism commodity prices on the high side,tourism commodity culture connotation is insufficient,part of tourism commodity quality need to be improved,tourism commodity series without the brand,the lack of tourism commodity development and design staff,lacking of a long-term mechanism in tourism commodity development and design and propaganda of tourist commodities is relatively single.Finally,countermeasures are put forward for the development of tourism commodities in public museums in Hohhot from three levels: government,tourism commodity developers and museums.This paper explores the direction of supply-side structural reform of urban museums in Hohhot under the background of cultural tourism integration,with a view to providing some referential experience for tourism commodity development of public museums in Hohhot and even Inner Mongolia,and enriching the research on current situation analysis and countermeasures of tourism commodity development of domestic museums.
