The Research Of Comparison Of Volunteer Services In Public Libraries Between China And Foreign Countries

A library is a cultural center of the society,and volunteer service contributes to the publicity and sustainable development of library culture.Therefore,complete library volunteer service system is the necessary condition of library sustainable development.Library volunteer service system in China is from abroad,we need study the mature experience from the foreign public library,sum up shortcomings,so work to improve them.This paper first describes the generation,development,connotation,content and characteristics of related concepts.Before the comparative study,eight public libraries were selected from Britain,the United States and Canada,and eight libraries were selected from China as study samples,through the analysis and investigation for western and Chinese public libraries,the public library volunteer service is divided into three categories.From the most representative voluntary service items in each category,summarize their contents and characteristics.A comparative study of the voluntary services of Chinese and foreign public libraries was carried out in this paper.Finally,researcher summarizes the differences between Chinese and foreign volunteer service,analyzes the reasons,and puts come up with feasible Suggestions.The voluntary service of library in our country started late.Its development lags behind that of western countries.This article will be a comprehensive comparative study of the development status of volunteer services in public libraries in Western countries.From the comparison,to find out the differences,from all aspects of the differences in detail summed up the implementation strategy in line with China's national conditions,whether it is from one aspect to help improve the development of public library volunteer service in China.
