"Geology,drilling,testing three pillars,one-third of the world has one",in 1953,our country famous geologist,first minister of geology Siguang Li pointed out that the geological test in the geological work of the important position and role.In more than 60 years,China's geological test work for geological science research,mineral resources,assessment of geological environment,and other geological work provides technical and information support,become a indispensable important basis related geological work.With the progress of science and technology,automatic and intelligent level of analytical testing equipment is increasing day by day,the geology and mineral industry has put forward higher requirements for the technology of analysis and testing,and the traditional management model based on manual management has been unable to meet the needs of modern laboratories.The laboratory information management system is an application technology that integrates modern laboratory management ideas and computer technology in this context.This project is the project of Zhejiang Institute of Geology and Mineral Resources to carry out laboratory information construction.Laboratory of Zhejiang Institute of Geology and Mineral Resources to manual management of the main mode of work has not meet the current requirements of the laboratory,the need for a set of advanced and able to adapt to the future business growing demand of the laboratory information management system.To this end,we decided to research and develop LIMS in combination with laboratory specific needs and actual situation.Through the LIMS on the laboratory of the information of the transformation,so as to achieve standardized laboratory management processes;improve the accuracy and timeliness of the test;improve the efficiency of the laboratory and reduce operating costs;improve the level of laboratory management and other purposes.The system adopts the C/S structure system,the development platform selects the Windows 2000server operating system,and the development tools choose Delphi,JSP and C++ etc.The use of Microsoft SQL Server database technology on the laboratory test items,test products,standard substances,the use of inspection methods,personnel,equipment,materials invoicing and other information management,complete the various functional modules of the system.In this paper,the status of LIMS research at home and abroad and its application in the domestic mineral industry laboratories were analyzed and studied,and the research objectives and contents of the system were put forward through the demand analysis of the geological and mineral laboratory information management system.This paper introduces the system structure,process,module,page and data dictionary design,the nine functional modules of the personnel management,material management,equipment management,business management,data processing,quality control,comprehensive query,basic library management and system management are expounded.At present,the geological and mineral laboratory information management system has been implemented in the laboratory of Zhejiang Institute of Geology and Mineral Resources.The success of the system implementation,realize information management of the laboratory work,in business acceptance,sample analysis,report review and report generation and release of all links of the implementation of computer management;standardized the laboratory workflow;improve the work efficiency,improve the level of laboratory quality management.With the progress of computer technology,LIMS based on "internet of things" and "cloud computing" has become the trend of LIMS development.The LIMS of future laboratories should also be developed in a systematic,informational,automated,intelligent,professional and multidisciplinary direction.
