TFT-LCD Display Technology has now been widely applied in each kinds of electrical equipment.Such as television,Note-book,mobile-phone,General advertisement Board,E-book,Etc.Now it has been an very important thing that we could not absence.Compared with CRT technology,TFT-LCD has so many advantages,such as smaller size,lightweight,high contrast ratio,high color saturation.In the first ten years of 21st century past,we could say that TFT-LCD Technology has almost 100%instead of CRT technology.In our country,TFT-LCD is still a developing industry.Since the process of TFT-LCD is so complex,need so great investment,it is still an un-known technology and mysterious things to many Chinese electronic company and normal engineers.ESD is the abbreviation of Electro-Static-Discharge,in electricity industry,Anti-ESD is very important to the product quality assurance,since any electric element is so easy to be damaged by ESD event during the process or test procedure.It may need different level of ESD protection in different process or production line,so it has been a very important Technology in all electronic company.If ignore the ESD protection system,it may lead great impact to the yield of product,and may lead great scrap and unnecessary cost to production,and of course,will increase the manufacturing costs.More and more,TFT-LCD panel makers,and assembly company,suspect ESD protectionas an important project,make great efforts to study how to reduce the loss due to ESD,and try to improve the quality of product.TFT-LCD Panel process including:Glass Process(Array,CF,Cell process),Module process,it maybe unacquainted to many people.In this article,we will introduce some knowledge about it,we will introduce how to set up an ESD protection system.Firstly,we will introduce the principle of LVDS transfer and signal characteristic,and then point out the ESD risk during the production.And we will also further study about ESD principle and how to prevent it,then we will compare TVS and other Anti-ESD elements,get a conclusion about its advantage and dia-advantage.Also,we will discuss the characteristic of TVS element and how to apply it in the system,the key parameter and notice during the application.Finally,we will introduce the ESD protection circuit's design and application of LVDS,and make it suitable for our TFT-LCD process.In the article,we will study the principle of ESD and Anti-ESD of LVDS interface on TFT-LCD,and Focus on how to design the protection circuit of LVDS interface.
