Design Of ZigBee Wireless Home Gateway

With the network technology and the rapid development of modern communications technology,home networking is gradually entering the average family's daily home life.Home network through a wireless home gateway for intelligent home appliances terminal' remote control is the inevitable trend in the future development.As the core of the entire home network,wireless home gateway,set up mainly for formation and maintenance of the internal network,network access and remote control.Wireless gateway of communication and control technology is a key issue to be resolved.This paper selected ZigBee as the home gateway technology for wireless communication technology.ZigBee has many features such as low power,low rate,low cost,high reliability and so on,which is very suitable for the formation of a home network.Through the related research in home gateway technology,this paper designed a "loose coupling type" ZigBee wireless home gateway.This type of home gateway,not only in performance is more superior,but more conducive to maintain and extend.Firstly,the writer selected the S3C2440 as the master chip,then extended the rich interface devices,and connect to the ZigBee coordinator whose Core Chip is CC2430 through the serial port,this is the hardware platform;Secondly,Linux was adopted as the main control module's embedded operating system.After completing the U-Boot and the Linux kernel's transplantation,and root filesystem production,the writer wrote the serial reading and writing procedures to implement the communication with the ZigBee coordinator;Then,in the Z-Stack protocol stack,application procedure was designed for ZigBee coordinator module to achieve the formation of family networks,and the ability to respond to commands from the master and the request from the terminal node;Finally,the writer transplant the embedded Web server on the software platform.Through the design of CGI program and the HTML page,this system has realized the communication within the family network and the external internet network as well as the remote monitor and control functions to the terminal node in the family network.
