Chinese core literacy was unveiled in the Senior Secondary Chinese Curriculum Standards(2017 Edition),which formally provides new thinking and direction for the reform of senior secondary language education teaching and learning,and further focuses on the needs of senior high school students to adapt to the development of future society.The teaching of ancient poetry has a unique value in fostering Chinese core literacy that needs to be explored and utilized by teachers.However,most senior high school teachers follow the traditional idea of test-taking education and rely too much on various exercise books when designing ancient poetry assignments,resulting that the students use extracurricular assignments to practice the ancient poetry reading questions repeatedly,without fully utilize of the multiple values of ancient poetry assignments to cultivate students' core literacy.Therefore,the author tries to use the concept of Chinese core literacy as guidance,integrating the characteristics of ancient poetic genres and using Chinese core literacy as the goal to explore improvement strategies for designing ancient poetry assignments in high school.The objective is to solve some of the problems that teachers have in designing ancient poetry assignments in high school and making a modest contribution to promoting Chinese core literacy in ancient poetry assignment.In this thesis,the research is carried out with the idea of theory-guided practice,practice and theory combined,and the research methods such as documentary analysis method,questionnaire survey method and data statistics method are mainly used.First of all,this paper clarifies the concept of extracurricular assignments and understands the meaning of Chinese core literacy in depth by collating and analyzing the literature.Based on this,it analyzes the guidance meaning of the concept of Chinese core literacy on assignment designing.Secondly,this thesis has sorted out the relevant teaching theories that play a guiding role in assisting the concept of Chinese core literacy to provide a solid theoretical foundation,which core literacy,constructivism learning theory,motivation theory,metacognitive theory,and Mr.Ye's "XingFaGanDong" theory are used as the theoretical foundations for the study of ancient poetry assignment design in high school.Thirdly,by the questionnaire survey on designing the ancient poetry assignments thispaper discovers that the teachers' awareness of the objectives and the overall design of ancient poetry assignments are not in harmony;the content is biased towards the type of questions in the college entrance examination and neglects the demands of students;the design of the assignment form lacks changes and the characteristics of the times are not obvious;and there is too much reliance on two-dimensional evaluation criteria and a single teacher evaluation method,etc.These problems are mainly caused by teachers' lagging concept of assignment designing,difficulty in finding a balance between the new curriculum reform and the demands of the college entrance examination in the test-taking environment and neglecting the subjectivity of students in the assignment.Finally,this paper analyzes the current situation of the design of ancient poetry assignments and its attribution in high school and with Chinese core literacy as the goal oriented,it suggests that teachers should plan the knowledge section of ancient poetry in the design of ancient poetry assignments to promote language construction,create the assignment context to strengthen language comprehension,and pay close attention to the expression of the assignments to develop linguistic awareness;focus on virtual thinking,introduce mind maps,and use self-evaluation strategies to promote the development and improvement of students' thinking;stimulate aesthetic emotions by reading assignments combining with we media,strengthen aesthetic skills with rich types of ancient poetry appreciation assignments,and develop aesthetic horizons by combining mass reading and regular communication assignments;promote cultural transmission and understanding by penetrating traditional cultural education,focusing on developing resources of ancient poetry assignment and designing cultural topic assignments,with special emphasis on strategies to develop students' poetry creation ability to promote the overall improvement of Chinese core literacy.It is expected that this study will promote the further implementation of the concept of Chinese core literacy and help frontline teachers design ancient poetry assignments that are beneficial to the development of core literacy for senior high school students.
