In the context of the new round of curriculum reform,geography teaching is no longer the traditional teaching of geographic knowledge,but more emphasis is put on the cultivation of geographic core literacy.The General Senior High School Geography Curriculum Standard(2017 Edition)states that the goal of the geography curriculum is to cultivate students' core geography literacy,that is,the concept of human-land coordination,comprehensive thinking,regional cognition,and geographic practice.Geographical practical ability is an important component of geographic core literacy.It refers to the will quality and action ability that students have in practical activities such as geographic field investigations,geographic simulation experiments,and geographic surveys.Geography extracurricular practice,as a carrier of geography practice power,is a new teaching method and an important supplement and extension of classroom teaching.It not only helps students strengthen their understanding of geography knowledge and geography principles,but also is an important way to cultivate their geography practice power.However,due to various factors,in practical high school geography teaching,the extra-curricular practice activities of geography have not been carried out well.Therefore,from the perspective of cultivating students' core geography literacy and actual geography teaching needs,this thesis mainly studies how to carry out geography extracurricular practice activities in high school geography teaching.The main research methods of this thesis include literature method,questionnaire survey method,interview survey method and case analysis method.Through the literature method,it collects and sorts out relevant literature on geography extracurricular practice activities to analyze the background and significance of high school geography extracurricular practice activities.By introducing the research process and method of this thesis and defining the core concepts,it also collates and reviews the research status at home and abroad,which analyzes the theoretical basis of extra-curricular activities in geography.Using questionnaire survey method and interview survey method,this thesis investigates the current situation of the extracurricular practice activities of senior high schools in Longnan City.The existing problems are summarized as follows: low participation of teachers and students,teachers' lacking of the ability to guide extra-curricular practice activities and the imbalance of development in various schools' implementation.The reasons are analyzed as follows: low support from schools;low practical ability of teachers;limited spare time of students and safety issues.And it puts forward corresponding implementation strategies according to the problems: first,strengthen the support of the school;second,improve the teachers' practical ability;third,improve the students' practical ability;and fourth,ensure the safety of the students.Also using case analysis method,the thesis is based on the principles of case design and adheres to the principles of combining teacher-led and student subject,combining practical activities with rural land resources,and combining knowledge and fun of practical activities to design and develop extracurricular practice in geography in high schools activity.According to the high school geography curriculum standards,academic characteristics and local conditions,three cases of extra-curricular practice activities are designed,and the objectives,preliminary preparations,requirements,processes and results exchanges of each activity case are specifically designed.Case Three is selected to carry out the actual development by the author,who accomplishes this with the help of a Geography Teacher of the First Middle School of the county and some students from both schools of the author and the teacher.Finally,from the feedback from the participating teachers and students after the activity,the following conclusion is made:Before the extracurricular practice activities in geography,teachers need to carefully design the content,location,route,safety and other links of the practice activities in accordance with the high school geography curriculum standards and academic situation to ensure the smooth and efficient implementation of the practice activities.During the activities,teachers should give students more autonomy,pay attention to observe students' performance in practical activities,guide them in a timely manner,and urge students to make observation records and interview records.After the activity,teachers need to give a timely summary evaluation of student performance and learning results to ensure the effectiveness of practical activity learning.Hopefully,this thesis will be helpful for high school geography teachers in the research and development of extra-practice activities,and provide a certain reference.
