Due to the continuous wave of education informatization and the continuous development of education technology,the mode of mobile intelligent terminal is born.In 2018,the ministry of education published the 2017 edition of Geography Curriculum standards for Senior High Schools,which proposed innovative learning methods to cultivate the core qualities of geography.The new era and new requirements all impact on the traditional teaching methods,thus promoting another new direction of geography classroom teaching research,which is to apply the development of modern information technology resources to geography classroom teaching.High school geography is a natural science course to improve students' geographical literacy,cultivate their thinking,observation and hands-on ability.In order to fully arouse the interest and enthusiasm of high school students in learning geography,enrich the classroom teaching mode of high school geography teachers,and improve the effect of high school geography classroom teaching,the author takes MeteoEarth application program as an example to explore the application of APP in high school geography teaching.The specific contents of this study include: 1)to analyze the current situation and trend of APP teaching research at home and abroad and the research progress of APP in geography teaching;2)by means of questionnaire survey,the current application status of the APP for general high school geography teachers' education and the difficulties in geography thought by teachers and students are understood;3)both regular classroom teaching resources and MeteoEarth software resources are used to organize geography teaching cases respectively,and the effects of classroom teaching practice are summarized and evaluated through the use of classroom practice.The research results show that: 1)the application of MeteoEarth in high school geography classroom teaching can effectively stimulate students' discovery and exploration of geographical phenomena and principles,improve students' interest intaking the initiative to learn geography,and also help students to break through difficult points in learning vividly.2)APP teaching can effectively promote mutual assistance and cooperative learning among teachers,students and students,exercise students' communication and cooperation ability,and make students more confident in geography learning.Meanwhile,APP teaching can also enrich the teaching methods,contents and modes of geography teachers.
