Since the start of a new round of curriculum reform in China from 2004,it has put forward more requests which are in accordance with the development of times and are more suitable with students ’ learning ability in the course of nature,basic idea,curriculum goal and curriculum structure of history subject.With the implementation of the new curriculum reform,first-line history teachers and historical educators think about how to improve the history teaching method,and begin to try to use the new teaching methods to carry on the teaching.The case teaching method is applicable to the requirements and goals of the new curriculum reform,and the teachers try to adopt this new teaching method to meet the needs of history teaching.The case method can be defined as a teaching method for teachers to describe a specific educational situation by using cases,and to guide students to discuss these special situations and to draw relevant conclusions.The teaching method takes the case as the core,under the teachers’ guidance,and the students carry on the analysis and the discussion about the case,and use the knowledge which themselves grasp to solve the problem,and then obtains new knowledge.This paper is divided into four parts,the first part is to analyze the course development of case teaching method,and to define the definition of case instruction.The second part analyzes the application principle of the case method in the history of senior High School,and compares it with other teaching methods.The third part is the actual implementation process of case teaching.The author takes the History Compulsory Book 1 Lesson Eight "The Establishment of the Federal Government of the United States" to compile the case,to carry on the actual classroom teaching,to distribute questionnaire after the lesson to the students,and to carry on the investigation and analysis with regard to the case teaching effect.The fourth part are the problems and suggestions on the use of case teaching method in the course of middle school history lessons,and aim to combine the case teaching method with the history teaching in middle school,which can add theory support for history teachers to conform to the trend of reform and to improve their interest in learning history.This paper holds that case teaching method is a kind of teaching approach which accords with the requirement of new curriculum reform,and it can not only help students to understand and master the curriculum of course standard,but also cultivate students ’ core accomplishment ability and improve their learning ability.The author explores the practicability of this teaching method by the practical teaching process of 4 classes in the Senior high school.In the form of questionnaire,the teaching effectiveness of the method was evaluated,and statistics showe that 86% of the students surveyed consider it necessary to use the teaching method to carry out the course(the establishment of the Federal Government of the United States).Nearly 50% of the students like to use the case teaching method in the classroom,and nearly 70% of the students think that the use of case teaching method is helpful to understand the content of the teaching material.The author thinks that the above data show that the case teaching method conforms to the new teaching methods of curriculum reform and improves the requirements of teaching methods,and the first-line history teachers can use this teaching method in the field of senior high school to popularize the application of the case method after studying the theory and procedure of case teaching and to choose the appropriate time according to the actual situation. |
