The novel teaching plays an irreplaceable role in the high school language teaching.However,because of the limit of the length of the high school textbooks,the selected novels are generally cut down,then how to deal with the relationship between the deletion of the book and the complete book,and how to complete the complete content of the teaching through a short text is the question that the teacher must think and explore the practice.The main problems in the present high school novel teaching are as follows: the teachers overemphasize the knowledge of the novel fragments in the teaching,but not pay enough attention to the integrity of the content of the novel and the overall ideological significance;not too much attention is paid to the organic connection between the novels in the novel unit teaching,and the humanistic and aesthetic attention to the students' aesthetic emotion cultivation and personality cultivation in the novel teaching not enough.Three problems show that teachers' teaching lacks understanding and implementation of holistic teaching.The holistic teaching of the novel means that teachers should deal with three integral relationships in the teaching of novels,namely,the knowledge of the textbook and the complete novel knowledge,the integrity of the novel knowledge and the literary knowledge,the integrity of the knowledge between the different novels in the unit teaching,the integrity of the teaching knowledge between the different small elements of the unit teaching,and the students' knowledge of the novel and the experience of the novel.The charm of beauty realizes the integrity between personality development.To strengthen the integrity of the novel teaching is to require teachers to put independent and single knowledge in a whole framework when they are engaged in the teaching of novel units,so as to establish an integral connection between the part of the novel and the whole of the novel,the novel of a unit and the other unit,the style of the novel and the category of literature,so that the teaching activities are targeted and effective.To achieve the goal of education and teaching.
