The history textbook is an important medium for historical teaching of bilateral activities,and the meantime,it is also the most widely spread History Reader.The historical knowledge presented in the history textbooks reflects the will of the state,representing the historical knowledge that the state desires to pass on to future citizens.And as the main body of historical activities,historical figures are the key objects of historical textbooks.Confucius,as the core of Chinese traditional culture,has experienced a tortuous process in the history textbooks.Different versions of history textbooks have different evaluation on Confucius and his thoughts.This paper takes the representative historical textbooks from 1949 to 2001 as the research object.By means of literature collection,text analysis,comparative analysis and other research methods,analyzing and comparing the Confucius' s narration that in the textbooks,figuring out What kind of changes that Confucius has gone through and analyzing the reasons for the changes.in turn,accurately grasping the author intention,in order to improve the writing of the history textbooks.The paper mainly includes six parts:The introduction part mainly expounds the reason of this writing and the significance of the study.Also it makes a general analysis and evaluation on the compilation of historical figures and the research on Confucius.Moreover,it points out the innovation and research methods of this paper.The first three chapters are mainly based on the establishment of new China,the Great Proletarian Cultural Revolution and the reform and opening as the time limit of the three points.it makes an analysis and comparison of Confucius' s narration in different editions of history textbooks in 1949-1965,1966-1976 and 1976-2001 periods,and then summarizes the characteristics of different versions of the Confucius image.The fourth chapter is the focus of this paper,mainly discussing the change of Confucius' s image in different editions of history textbooks from 1949 to 2001 and analyzing the factors that influence the image of Confucius,mainly influenced by three aspects: The restriction of the background,the influence of academic research and the changes of educational concept.In the fifth chapter,according to the change of Confucius' s image in the history textbooks of 1949-2001,it summarizesthe general development trend of history textbook compilation and makes some reflections on the writing of the textbooks.in addition,it provides some suggestions for the teaching of history.
