History textbooks carry the function of history education,and the historical facts described in the textbooks directly affect teenagers' understanding of history.This passage takes the image of Japan as the theme and attempts to analyze the image of Japan in the textbooks on the basis of the historical facts related to Japan recorded in the textbooks.At present,there are few studies on this issue in the domestic academic circle,and most of them focus on the image of Japan in the history textbooks published by People's Education Press.Due to the limitations of the history textbooks,these studies tend to portray Japan as a single aggressor,which is not conducive to our correct and comprehensive understanding of Japan.With the reform of new curriculum,state-compiled textbooks put into trial.The state-compiled high school textbooks is written in chronological order,which is different from the old textbooks compiled on special topics including politics,economy and culture,and add the content related to the ancient Japanese as well.This kind of great change definitely cause the change of Japanese image in the textbooks,so the authorregards the state-compiled high school history textbooks as the research object,and tries to comb the Japanese imagein the book togive advice aiming at set up correct view of Japan.This paper is divided into five parts.The first part explains the reasons for the choice,literature review,research methods and innovations.The second part sorts out the contents of Japanese history in chronological order.The third part analyzes the history of Japan in the textbook to shape the image of Japan.Specifically,in this paper,according to the arrangement of time in state-compiled textbooks,the Japanese image can be divided into "the Japanese image in Chinese history" and "Japanese image in the world history".The author thinks Japanese image in the Chinese history has gone through the changing process from the "learner" to the "invaders" to the "friendly communicator",while Japanese image in the history of the world experiences a series of phases,namely,from openess to seclusion,from modernization to fascism,and then to economic power.The dynamic change process provides us with a more complete understanding in Japan.It is significantly different from the fragmented and unitary image of Japan based on the history textbook of People's Education Press.The fourth part explores the characteristics of Japanese image construction,and holds that the construction of Japaneseimage attaches more importance to politics and economy than culture and technologyis more about historical facts than characters;The image of Japan in China-Japan relations is emphasized,while the Japanese image in the world history is underestimated.Therefore,the construction of Japanese image in textbooks needs to be improved.The fifth part puts forward suggestions on how to teach Japanese history.The national image teaching in current teaching is ignored,so teachers should improve their awareness of Japanese image teaching when teaching Japanese history.Finally,the author cites the specific teaching cases to illustrate how to guide students to be patriotic rationally,and also supplements the relevant background knowledgeto guide the student to ponder the question from the perspective of world history.
