The Research On The Relationship Among Parental Rearing Styles,Time Management Disposition And Test Anxiety Of Higher Vocational Students

In this study,using the EMBU(Egna Minnen av Barndoms Uppfostran-own memories of parental rearing practices in childhood),the ATMD(Adolescence Time Management Disposition Scale)by Huang Xiting and Zhang Zhiwei as well as the TAS(Test Anxiety Scale)by Sarason as the research tools,465 students from Fuyang Preschool Education College were tested to explore the relationship between the parental upbringing ways,time management disposition(TMD)of higher vocational college students and test anxiety.The empirical research results show that:(1)A significant difference was shown in the parental upbringing styles in terms of gender and family source.In the two tested factors of excessive interference and preference in father upbringing style,a higher score was obtained by girls rather than boys;and in the dimension of father's preference,a higher score was shared by students from urban areas instead of rural ones.Vocational college student generally have good ability on time management.There is significant difference in sex,the male students got higher scores than female on the feedback of time management tendency and the time management behavior effectiveness.The scores of urban students are higher than those of rural students in the aspect of time management behavior.(2)A good time management ability was commonly embodied by the higher vocational college students.In the feedback of the time management disposition and time management behavior efficacy,a significant difference was shown and a higher score was obtained by boys rather than girls;for the time management behavior,a higher score was obtained by students from urban areas instead of rural ones.The anxiety level of higher vocational college students' examination is negatively correlated with their fathers' warm understanding of emotion,excessive interference and preference,positively with fathers' severe punishment,excessive protection and refusal to deny.The anxiety level is also negatively correlate with mother's warm understanding of emotion and preference in the style that mother upbringing and positively correlate with excessive protection,refusal to deny and severe punishment.(3)No significant difference was shown in the time value of the higher vocational college students in the gender and source.In the feedback of time control and time management behavior efficacy of time efficacy in the tested objects with different genders,a significant difference was shown and a higher score was obtained by boys rather than girls;while no significant difference was shown in the source.Personal and social orientation of time value in time management disposition of vocational college students are not significantly correlated with the total score of test anxiety,while priority and time allocation in time monitoring view are negatively correlated with the total score of test anxiety,and time management behavior efficiency and time management efficiency in time efficacy are negatively correlated with the total score of test anxiety.(4)The anxiety level of higher vocational college students were negatively correlated with the warm and understanding emotions,excessive interference,preference in the father upbringing style,but positively correlated with the severe punishment,excessive protection and refusal and denial.However,the anxiety level of the higher vocational college students was negatively correlated with the warm and understanding emotions,preference in the mother upbringing style,but positively correlated with the excessive interference,excessive protection,refusal and denial,and severe punishment.(5)In the parental upbringing styles,a significant positive correlation was shown between the parental warm and understanding emotions and the time value,time control as well as time efficacy;while a significant negative correlation was shown between the father's punishment and all aspects of TMD,father's and mother's excessive interference and protection and time efficacy,as well as mother's refusal and denial and time value and efficacy.(6)In TMD,an edge correlation was shown between the individual and social orientation of the time value and the test anxiety;while a significant negative correlation was shown between the priority and time allocation of the time control and the time management behavior efficacy and time management efficacy of the time efficacy and the total score of the test anxiety.(7)The TMD of higher vocational college students has a complete mediating effect between fathers' negative upbringing styles and test anxiety but a partial mediating effect between fathers' positive upbringing styles and test anxiety.(8)The TMD of higher vocational college students has a complete mediating effect between mothers' negative upbringing styles and test anxiety but a partial mediating effect between mothers' positive upbringing styles and test anxiety.
