With the development of economic globalization, oral English communicative competence plays an increasingly important role in the political, economic and cultural life of the country. In this context, the reform of English classroom teaching in secondary vocational schools should be adjusted accordingly. It is beneficial to improve students' future employability by changing the emphasis on teaching vocabulary and grammar to the emphasis on cultivating students' listening comprehension and oral communicative competence. In the past, teachers used the traditional teaching method to teach textbook knowledge mainly by cultivating examination-oriented ability, that is to say, they paid too much attention to input and neglected the cultivation of students'output ability, and they did not pay attention to whether the classroom teaching goal of each lesson had been achieved, which led to the low teaching efficiency and students'learning efficiency;while students' English foundation was poor and students' learning efficiency was low.The lack of interest in learning and self-confidence can lead to the weakness of students' oral production ability, which leads to the separation of learning and application. Therefore, the oral English teaching model in secondary vocational schools needs to be innovated. The purpose of this study is to apply the output-oriented approach proposed by Professor Wen Qiufang of Beijing Foreign Studies University to guide the teaching of oral English for the tour guide service students in secondary vocational schools, that is,to select appropriate input materials that are in line with students' current English proficiency,to stimulate students' desire for oral production,to promote students' oral expression,to establish an evaluation mechanism of teacher-student cooperation,to find out the shortcomings of students'expression, and to improve oral production ability.Based on the theory of input and output from abroad and the domestic production-oriented approach, the author will explore the feasibility of this theory in the teaching of spoken English in vocational schools and the classroom teaching mode suitable for spoken English in Vocational schools. The research will focus on the following aspects:1.What problems exist in oral English teaching in secondary vocational schools in China at present;2.Investigation and experimental study on the application of output-oriented approach to oral English teaching in secondary vocational schools;3.Design and analysis of oral English teaching in secondary vocational schools under the guidance of production-oriented approach for the tour guide service students.
