In recent years,under the high attention of each departments of the country,China's animation and game industry has been developed unprecedentedly,and the market for animation talents is more and more urgent.Therefore,China's animation education field has an unprecedented momentum of development.Therefore,in this rising tide,there is a broad employment prospect and new challenges for teachers.As a required basic course of animation game major in secondary vocational school,“Character design”is the core course to promote the vigorous development of animation industry.However,its teaching status is not optimistic and has many problems.Firstly,because of the constraints of people's traditional ideas and traditional teaching,it is difficult to stimulate students' interest in learning,and not enough to provide students with enough practice and space to think and solve problems independently.Secondly,as the animation and game major is a relatively new major,there is not much experience to learn from in setting the teaching mode of character design.According to the questionnaire survey statistics and statistics of students and teachers of animation and game major in Xiushui secondary vocational school in Jiaxing,it shows that the reason why the course's teaching effect is not satisfactory is the course condition,teaching condition and student condition,which makes the animation specialty teaching unable to meet the actual market demand.It isimperative to explore teaching methods which are from the perspective of students' actual situation in character design.It can not only stimulate students' interest,but also have comprehensive professional teaching methods such as analytical problem-solving ability,planning implementation and evaluation ability,cooperation and communication ability.As a new teaching concept,action-oriented teaching method can make up for the deficiency of current teaching,the author conducts questionnaire survey.We chat consultation and field visit on the curriculum setting,teaching subjects,teaching objects and teaching evaluation of role design to analyze the existing problems and causes of the current teaching of character design in secondary vocational schools.Combining the reality of teachers and students,try to adopt project teaching method,role playing method and case analysis teaching method in the teaching of character design,let teachers become the guidance of teaching activities,let students as the main body of the learning process,and achieve the education reform goal.While,there are many problems in the application of this new teaching concept,such as unclear positioning of teachers,insufficient teaching methods and incomplete evaluation system.Only solving the problem well can we promote the application of action-oriented teaching method in the course of character design of animation major in secondary vocational schools,so as to meet the needs of the market for skilled talents.
