Secondary vocational education as the main body of vocational education in China,plays an irreplaceable role in the field of Vocational education.In recent years,with the further development of knowledge,technology,industry and economy,the objective demand for high-quality and skilled professionals on the front line has attracted attention from all walks of life in secondary vocational education.The development of international division of labor has put forward realistic requirements for the reform of vocational English teaching mode oriented by vocational competence.This study combines competency-based education theory,humanistic learning theory and lifelong education theory,collects data through questionnaires among students,teachers and enterprises,and explores the current situation and existing problems of English teaching mode in secondary vocational schools by descriptive statistical analysis and regression analysis.The problems include:(1)inaccurate teaching orientation and outdated teaching concepts;(2)unclear teaching subjects and weak interaction between teachers and students;(3)lack of professional teaching content and low enthusiasm of students;(4)single teaching methods and backward teaching forms;(5)poor teaching evaluation and lack of feedback links;(6)lagging allocation of teachers and lack of teaching resources.Then the causes of the problems are analyzed from the aspects of teaching concept,dual state of Vocational education,vocational ability planning,teaching infrastructure and resources.Finally,a vocational competence-oriented reform strategy of English teaching mode in secondary vocational schools has been formed,which mainly includes:(1)implementing vocational English teaching concepts and defining English teaching objectives;(2)innovating English teaching content in secondary vocational schools and paying attention to the professionalization of teaching content;(3)paying attention to the diversification of teaching methods and building a differentiated teaching mode;(4)building a sound teaching evaluation mechanism and adding new teaching objectives.(5)Increase the input of teaching resources and attach importance to the training of English teachers in secondary vocational schools.
