The Study On Yuan Zhongdao’s Travel Notes

Traveling in Ming Dynasty was so prosperous that there appeared many famous Travelers and traveling writers.Yuan hongdao,Wang siren and Wang shixing are the representative figures.Yuan zhongdao-the subject of this paper,is also closely related to travel and travel notes.Yuan zhongdao was fond of traveling,footprints all over the country and wrote hundreds of travel notes.His travel notes not only recorded the landscape and cultural landscape during the journey,also pour into the personal thinking and rich emotions.In the literary history of the late Ming dynasty,Yuan zhongdao’s travel notes are particular and have high research value.This paper intends to analyze and study yuan zhongdao’s travel notes from the following five aspects:The first chapter mainly sorts out the development process of travel notes and the reasons for the prosperity of travel notes in the late Ming dynasty,and analyzes the source and flow of yuan zhongdao’s travel notes in the context of China ancient travel notes.This chapter is divided into two sections.The first section is a simple review of the development of ancient travel notes.Clarify the development process of travel notes,the characteristics of travel notes in different periods and the influence of travel notes in previous dynasties on the late Ming dynasty.The second section explores the new changes of travel notes in the late Ming dynasty and the reasons.The paper analyzes the new changes from three aspects:the self-analysis of travel notes theory,the diversity of travel notes style and the richness of travel notes content.Beyond that,this paper analyzes the direct and indirect reasons for the flourishing of travel notes in the late Ming dynasty from the aspects of the flourishing of tourism atmosphere,politics,economy and ideology.The environment of the late Ming dynasty had an important influence on the formation of Yuan zhongdao’s travel habits and the creation of his travel notes.The second chapter sorts out Yuan zhongdao’s life and travels in chronological order,and analyzes the changes of his tourism purpose and mentality in different stages and their influences on his travel writing.This chapter is divided into three sections,which are the roaming period of young adults,the self recuperate through natural beautiful scenery period in middle age and the official travels by the way in old age.Through the analysis of the three periods,the author draws the general change process of Yuan zhongdao’s life mentality and travel style from free and unrestrained in his youth to worry and depression in his middle age to peace and loneliness in his later years.The third chapter analyzes the content of Yuan zhongdao’s travel notes,which is one of the key chapters of this paper.According to the classification of nature landscape and human landscape,his travel notes are divided into two parts.The chapters both have landscape and human are classified according to their emphases.In the nature landscape,the emphasis is on the analysis of strange peaks and rocks,water color and sound and part of the landscape auxiliary landscape;The human landscape focuses on the analysis of the city,temples and Yuan zhongdao’s travel notes in the unique human textual research part.The fourth chapter analyzes the aesthetic value of Yuan zhongdao’s travel notes.His travel notes have the common aesthetic characteristics of the gong an school in ming dynasty,and also have his own unique characteristics.This chapter makes a detailed analysis of the aesthetic value of his travel notes from three aspects:the truth of emotion,the change of language and the beauty of artistic conception.Chapter five analyzes the cognitive significance of Yuan zhongdao’s travel notes.His travelogues reflect the social life in the late Ming dynasty and have certain historical value.This chapter analyzes the significance of Yuan zhongdao’s travel notes to the understanding of the late Ming society from two aspects:the life of the scribes and the folk customs,social ills in the late Ming dynasty.
