As a new topic in the translation studies, crowdsourcing and online collaborative translations are of great importance in practice. After understanding the background knowledge of this topic, the author writes this report on the Chapter 2 of Crowdsourcing and Online Collaborative Translations, which is a representative work of Miguel A.Jiménez-Crespo.With professional knowledge included, this book provides fertile materials for the readers to know about crowdsourcing and online collaborative translations.Crowdsourcing and Online Collaborative Translation mainly introduces some details of this topic, including its development, its impact on the translation industry and its relation to cognitive translation studies. In addition,it also analyzes the mode of crowdsourcing from the perspective of translation quality, sociological turn, translation ethics and methodologies,as well as the relation between texts and crowdsourcing, and the norms of fansubs and audio visional translation. The second chapter that selected in this report talks about the history and development of crowdsourcing and online collaborative translation, the emergence of personal computer,Internet and WWW and the details of participatory culture.Besides, this chapter also explores paid crowdsourcing and the limits in it.According to Reiss' s text typology, the translation text selected in this report can be categorized as the type of informative text, whose language needs to be plain and explicit in the process of translation in order to express the idea of original author accurately. Therefore, the author makes some case analysis from the perspective of logicalization and explicitation.Except for the two aspects above, standardized language is also necessary for informative text's translation. This translation report consists of four parts.Firstly,it describes the source of translation task, the content of translation text and the significance of this translation project. After that,it explains the translation process from the aspects of preparation, revision and embellishment work. Then,in the main part of this report, the author makes a case study on the translation text by analyzing the translation methods used in the guide of logicalization and explictation. Finally, the author lists some translation experience that learnes from this practice.
