Nowadays, the advance of network technology, especially large data technology, has brought about the deep reform of the industry.Crowdsourcing,as a new business model rising from the rapid development of Web 2.0,has been widely applicable in various fields.Recently, translation crowdsourcing which has gradually emerged distributes the translating and proofreading tasks to online volunteers through a web-based platform, relying on the wisdom of the crowd to perform a translation task with introducing up-to-date online collaborative translations into the translation industry. This is an excerpt from the book Crowdsourcing and Online Collaborative Translation in which a comprehensive research is made on translation crowdsourcing and online cooperative translation, which belongs to the academic monograph, conveying academic information, academic viewpoints and clarifying academic theories. As a result, the book can be regarded as an informative text, whose translations must be faithful to the original text and be accurate and fluent, embodying its academic, scientific, theoretical, and readable nature. The author applies eco-translatology to guide this translation practice, aiming at exploring the applicability of using the theory to guide the translation of academic texts, which provides a new perspective for the translation of this type of texts. In this report, the author briefly introduces the source of text materials and expounds the significance of this translation project.Subsequently, this report states preparations before translating, revisions and polishing processes in translating, proofreading and identifying jobs after translating. The issue of this report lies in the fact that it,combining the concrete cases, elaborates on how to operate adaptive selection and transformation from linguistic, cultural, and communicative levels and how to take some specific translation strategies so as to transplant source language ecology into target language ecology. Finally, the experiences of this translation project are summed up in this report. As the report demonstrates,it is feasible to apply the three-dimensional transformations in eco-translatology to guide translation practice of academic texts from English to Chinese;a translator needs to have a solid foundation both English and Chinese, and have rich experience and multi-domain expertise;it is also necessary for a translator to master some important translation theories and strategies, and be diligent in practice, which is in favour of improving the translators' translation skills. It is hoped that some beneficial references are provided for the translation practice of academic texts in the future.
