Along with the continuous development of computer and network technology, the translation process has been changing.Instead of depending solely on the professional translators, the translation model in the new era begins to leverage the network to brainstorm ideas and seek high-quality translation in a short period of time.Based on this background, the author takes the book Crowdsourcing and Online Collaborative Translations as the source text.Written by Miguel A.Jiménez-Crespo,an associate professor of Rutgers University, the original text includes more than 120,000 words, where the interdisciplinary analysis and research on “crowdsourcing and online collaborative translation” is carried out and the alternative relationship about this phenomenon and between different disciplines are explored. The translator completed the translation task of the Third Chapter of this book and finished the translation report accordingly. This chapter mainly reviews the research achievements of other scholars on crowdsourcing translation, describes the crowdsourcing workflow, and summarizes the main crowdsourcing application cases, such as,social software,non-profit organization,post-editing of machine translation and audiovisual translation. This translation practice is set under the guidance of the Text Typology Theory.Reiss divides the text mainly into three types: the expressive text, the informative text and the operative text.Different translation strategies should be selected to solve the translation issues of different text types. The book can be regarded as informative text, which requires the author to apply the communicative translation strategy so as to accurately convey the information of the original text. This report mainly presents how the translator combines theory to deal with the difficulties of translation by analyzing proper cases in the original text and translated text.In the translation process, the translator adopts amplification, word order adjustment, division and combination, etc. This thesis is made up of four chapters.Chapter One describes the material source, the text summary and the significance of this project.Chapter Two expounds the translation process, and sets up the effective translation strategies according to the text type, including preparation before translation, the first draft and analysis, second draft modification and polishing, the final version after finalization and revision.Chapter Three selects the typical translation cases for analysis, and elaborates on how to take some specific translation methods in this practice from the aspects of clarity, logic and standardization of academic papers.Chapter Four summarizes the translation experience,so as to provide references and inspirations for future translation practice.
