With the globalization of economy, the economic exchanges both at home and abroad are becoming increasingly frequent and important, therefore, the demand for translation of the economic texts is also on the rise. This translation practice study selects the first two chapters of The Wrath of Capital as the subject of study. As an economic text of non-literary translation, this book is of great value for translation and research purposes. This report aims to combine the theory with the translation practices to study the difficulties encountered in the translation practice.Based on the theory of functional equivalence, the author adopts a variety of translation methods such as literal translation, free translation, transliteration, transformation and reorganization to specifically conduct a case study and analysis from the aspects of the titles of the chapters, vocabularies, sentences and texts. The author concludes that in the whole translation process, the translation of terms and proper nouns is relatively simple, which can be searched through translation tools. The sentence translations are more difficult, and they should be fully understood, analyzed and translated comprehensively. In terms of translation at the discourse level, cohesion and coherence should be the top priorities. This study hopes to solve the problems encountered in translation in terms of understanding, translation, proofreading and refinement, with a view to providing some humble suggestions for the translation of economic texts.
