With the increasing internationalization of trade today, all nations should be interdependent and in solidarity.Communication with other countries in the world has become more and more important in the fast development. As a very important part, the translation activities of economics and trade text, have also received much attention.Based on the above reasons, this practice report selects an excerpt from the economics and trade text,Capital,Systems, and Objects——The Foundation and Future of Organizations as the source text. The source text is structured meticulously and logically, and mainly describes how to effectively create capital. It’s containing a large number of terminology, attributive clauses and passive sentences. The practice report is guided by Nida’s functional equivalence theory and analyzes the translation strategies applicable to the source text from two aspects: lexis and syntax. In lexical aspects, the author uses three translation strategies: lexical selection, lexical derivation, and lexical conversion. In the syntax aspects, the source text involves a variety of attributive clauses and passive sentences, which have much research value as examples to analyze translation strategies. For these reasons, some translation strategies are summarized. The part of attributive clauses includes four translation strategies: fronting, postponement, fusion, and conversion. Two translation strategies of morphological equivalence and morphological transfer are summarized for passive sentences. The translator also always keeps in mind to combine the functional equivalence theory with translation practice.Through this translation practice, the translator has gained a better understanding of economics and trade text and also improved her translation ability. Some translation strategies and practical experience are summarized to provide a reference for economics and trade text translation.
