Objective: To observe the effect of moving cupping therapy on improving the low back pain degree in patients with primary osteoporosis,as well as their quality of life. Methods: According to the inclusion criteria and exclusion criteria,a total of 68 patients with primary osteoporosis were collected into this study, and all patients had signed the informed consent.Patients were divided into control group and experiment group according to the random number table method, with 34 cases in each group.Patients in control group were given drug therapy(Calcium carbonate D3 Tablets + Alendronate Sodium and Vitamin D3 Tablets),while those in experiment group were given drugs combined with moving cupping therapy. The moving cupping therapy was used twice a week. The total intervention time was 4 weeks. At weeks 0,1,2 and 4 of intervention, the numeric rating scale(NRS)scores in both groups were recorded, respectively;meanwhile, the quality of life(COQOL scale),and traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)syndrome integral(primary osteoporosis TCM scale)in both groups were determined at weeks 0 and 4 of intervention.Treatment satisfaction was surveyed at weeks 4 of intervention. All statistical data were processed using the SPSS 21.0 statistic analysis software. Results: After the end of research,5 cases had dropped out from this study;as a result,a total of 63 cases were finally enrolled in this study, including 31 in experiment group and 32 in control group, with the drop-out rate of 7.4%.The detailed research results were shown below.1?Comparison of NRS score: Intra-group comparison: Differences in NRS scores at different time points in both groups were statistically significant(P<0.05).Difference in NRS score in control group before intervention was not statistically significant compared with that at 1 week of intervention(P>0.05);NRS score was remarkably lowered at 2 weeks of intervention compared with those before intervention and at 1 week of intervention(P<0.05);and NRS score was notably reduced at 4 weeks of intervention relative to those before intervention,as well as at 1 and 2 weeks of intervention(P<0.05).For the experiment group, the NRS score was gradually reduced before intervention,as well as at 1,2 and 4 weeks of intervention, and the differences in any two time points were statistically significant(P<0.05).Inter-group comparison: differences in NRS score between two groups were not statistically significant before intervention and at 1 week of intervention(P>0.05);while NRS scores in experiment group at 2 and 4 weeks of intervention were evidently lower than those in control group(P<0.05).2?Comparison of quality of life: Intra-group comparison: after 4 weeks of intervention, the scores of all dimensions in the COQOL scale,as well as the total scale scores in both groups, were remarkably reduced compared with those before intervention(P<0.05).Inter-group comparison: scores of the pain syndrome, mental and psychological function dimensions in the COQOL scale,as well as the total score in experiment group were markedly lower than those in control group(P<0.05);meanwhile,scores of the physical function and social adaptation dimensions showed no statistically significant differences compared with those in control group(P>0.05).3?Comparison of TCM syndromes of primary osteoporosis: Intra-group comparison: after 4 weeks of intervention, the scores of phlegm syndrome and spleen deficiency syndrome in the POP TCM scale in control group were not markedly changed compared with those before intervention(P>0.05);the scores of kidney deficiency syndrome, blood stasis syndrome, and total scale score were evidently decreased compared with those before intervention(P<0.05).For the experiment group, the phlegm syndrome score after 4 weeks of intervention was not dramatically different from that before intervention(P>0.05);whereas the scores of spleen deficiency syndrome, kidney deficiency syndrome, and blood stasis syndrome,as well as total scale score were outstandingly decreased compared with those before intervention(P<0.05).Inter-group comparison: the scores of kidney deficiency syndrome, and blood stasis syndrome,as well as total scale score in experiment group were notably reduced relative to those in control group(P<0.05);while differences in phlegm syndrome and spleen deficiency syndrome scores were not statistically significant relative to those in control group(P>0.05).4?Comparison of treatment satisfaction: The treatment satisfaction of the control group was 65.6%.The treatment satisfaction of the experiment group was 87.1%.The treatment satisfaction of the experiment group was higher than that of the control group. The difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion: 1?Moving cupping therapy can alleviate the low back pain degree in patients with Primary osteoporosis.2?Moving cupping therapy can improve the quality of life of patients with primary osteoporosis;particularly in improving the pain degree and mental state.3?Moving cupping therapy can improve the TCM syndromes in patients with primary osteoporosis, which mainly manifests in the improvements of kidney deficiency and blood stasis related syndromes.
