Objective: Studying on the efficacies of Array Acupuncture plus Blood-letting Cupping therapy and in Back Myofascial Pain Syndrome by comparing with Shen Tong Zhu Yu Tang.Methods: 52 patients with back mayofascial pain syndrome were randomized to separate into two groups. 27 patients were treated with Array Acupuncture plus Blood-letting Cupping therapy (Combination Group) and another 25 with Shen Tong Zhu Yu Tang (Drug Group) in 30 days. Every 10 days is a treating session, total treating sessions are three. The studying parameters are visual analogue scale, pain time of a day and the number of A Shi Xue, which are recodered at the end of every treating session.Results: All the patients in different groups showed a positive response to the treatments. In Combining Group, the statistic significant differences were seen in those parameters (P<0.05). Amony the combination group, the significant difference was seen between the treating sessions and the pre-treating session (P<0.05). In the drug group, the record at the end of the third treating session was different from the pre-treating record (P<0.05). The record of the first treating session of the combination group was obviously better than the one in any treating session of the drug group (P<0.05). The final treating results from the two groups were significant different from each other (P<0.05).Conculusion: Array Acupuncture plus Blood-letting Cupping therapy could relieve the pain caused by the back myofascial pain syndrome fast and efficiently, whose treating results is superior to that of the therapy using Shen Tong Zhu Yu Tang. As an economic, low-risk and quick onseting therapy, we would like to recommand it should be widely used in myofascial pain syndrome.
