OBJECTS: This paper objectively and effectively evaluates the efficacy and safety of the oral “Tongluosanjie” prescription in the treatment of children mesenteric lymphadenitis(ML)(or stagnation of qi and blood),provides novel ideas and methods for the clinical traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)treatment of simple abdominal pain in children caused by ML and provided a theoretical basis for clinical application.METHODS: This paper study the 72 children who met the pediatric ML diagnosis standard and related inclusion criteria of children. The random number table method is used to randomly divide into 36 treatment groups and 36 control groups. All the cases were treated for2 weeks. The TCM syndrome score and abdominal ultrasound were finished before and after treatment respectively, which were used to compare and analyze the improvement of the observation indexes and evaluate the difference in efficacy between the two groups.RESULTS:(1)Total effective rate: Treatment group: 22 cases of clinical control,7 cases had apparent results,2 cases had effective results,3 cases had no effects, the total effective rate was 91.2%;Control group: 9 cases of clinical control,5 cases had apparent results,9 cases had effective results,9 cases had no effects, the total effective rate was 71.9%.The difference between the two groups was statistically significant(P<0.05).(2)The total score of TCM syndrome, score of cardinal symptoms, and secondary symptom: the difference between the two groups within and between groups was statistically significant(P<0.05)after treatment.(3)The individual scores of the cardinal symptoms(the degree of abdominal pain, abdominal frequency, abdominal tenderness)and the individual scores of the secondary symptoms(abdominal distension, loss of appetite, nausea and vomiting, stool traits): no statistical difference between the two groups before treatment significance(P>0.05).After treatment, the difference between the two groups was statistically significant(P<0.05).(4)Abdominal ultrasound examination: after the treatment of the two groups, the abdominal ultrasound examination was performed later to observe the change of the longitudinal axis and transverse axis(longest diameter and shortest diameter)of the mesenteric lymph nodes, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).CONCLUSIONS:(1)“Tongluosanjie” recipe is effective in treating mesenteric lymphadenitis(stagnation of qi and blood)in children, and has clinical application value.(2)“Phlegm,food,and blood stasis” are the main pathological factor of the disease syndrome, and “intestinal qi and blood stagnation” caused by the mutual junction of “phlegm, food, and blood stasis” is the key to the pathogenesis of the disease.
