Objective: To observe the effect of Wuwei Xiaoke Prescription and Baihu Decoction on fasting blood glucose(FPG),2-hour postprandial blood glucose(2hPG),glycosylated hemoglobin(HbA1c),fasting plasma insulin(FINS),2-hour postprandial plasma insulin(2hINS),body mass index(BMI)and TCM syndrome score in patients with.Provide a basis for Chinese medicine treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus. Methods: Sixty patients with type 2 diabetes who meet the inclusion criteria for stomach-heat excess syndrome were randomly divided into a control group and a treatment group of 30 cases. All patients received basic treatment for type 2 diabetes, including diet control, exercise, health education, blood glucose monitoring and other treatments.Control group(30cases): Metformin hydrochloride sustained-release tablets orally,1g/ time,2times/d.Observation group(30 cases): Based on the treatment of the control group, the treatment group was treated with Wuwei Xiaoke Prescription and Baihu Decoction for oral treatment. The two groups were observed and treated for 2 cycles, with 4 weeks as a treatment cycle.Fasting blood glucose(FPG),fasting plasma insulin(FINS),2-hour postprandial blood glucose(2h PG),2-hour postprandial plasma insulin(2h INS),glycosylated hemoglobin(Hb A1c),body mass index(BMI)and TCM syndrome score were measured before and after treatment to evaluate the clinical efficacy. And observe safety indicators, including vital signs such as blood pressure, heart rate, body temperature, and respiratory rate,as well as blood routine examination, urineroutine examination, indicators such as liver function, kidney function, electrocardiogram and to record the possible adverse reactions. To assess the clinical efficacy and safety of use Wuwei Xiaoke Prescription and Baihu Decoction to treatment of patients, those whose with type 2 diabetes mellitus with stomach-heat excess syndrome.Result: 1.Comprehensive efficacy: The effective rate of the treatment group was 93.1%,the effective rate of the control group was 72.4%.The treatment group was superior to the control group(P<0.05).2.TCM syndrome total points: Both groups can reduce the TCM syndrome total points. The TCM syndrome total points of the treatment group were significantly better than the control group(P<0.05).3.Glucose metabolism index: FPG,2hPG and HbA1C were decreased in both groups, the reduction of FPG and 2hPG in the treatment group was better than that in the control group(P<0.05 or P<0.01).There was no significant difference in the reduction of Hb A1C(P >0.05).4.Insulin-related indexes: FINS and 2h INS were reduced in both groups, the reduction of FINS and 2h INS in the treatment group was better than that in the control group(P<0.05 or P<0.01).5.Other indicators: Both groups could reduce BMI.There was no significant difference in BMI reduction(P >0.05).6.Safety: No adverse reactions were observed in either group. Conclusion: Under the premise of basic treatment of type 2 diabetes,Wuwei Xiaoke Prescription and Baihu Decoction combined with metformin hydrochloride sustained-release tablets can significantly improve the clinical symptoms of patients, those whose with type 2 diabetes mellitus with stomach-heat excess syndrome, which can reduce the glucose and insulin-related metabolic indexes and the body mass index. The clinical efficacy is definitely better than that of metformin hydrochloride sustained-release tablets alone, the safety is good, which is worthy of clinical promotion and application.
