| Objective:To observe the curative effect and safety of Modified BaiHu RenSheng Decoction to Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus through comparison with JiangTangShu Capsule, and explore the mechanism and offer the scientific basis for the further improvement and clinic application of Modified BaiHu RenSheng Decoction.Methods:64 cases of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus, who belong to the symptom-complex of excess of stomach-heat and deficiency of Qi and Yin, are randomly divided into treatment group and comparison group. All the patients receive the Chinese drug treatment on the basis of previous cures. The patients in the treatment group take Modified BaiHu RenSheng Decoction and comparison group JiangTangShu Capsule. After four weeks, we compare the differences between groups, including the symptoms and some inspections, and study the data with statistical analyses.Results:1.The total effective rate of treatment group in the symptom-signs, 96.88%, with statistical analysis, is better than that of comparison group.2.A11 the patients's clinical symptoms, such as polyorexia, thirst, lassitude, fidget, dysphoria with feverish sensation in chest, palms and soles, polyuria, constipation and so on, have been improved in the some degrees after four weeks. Furthermore, polyorexia of treatment group has been more obviously alleviated than that of comparison group.3.Both treatment group and comparison group have showed statistical significance in terms of decrease of FPG, 2HPG and GSP after the treatment. Furthermore, the decline of 2HPG after breakfast in the treatment group is more sharp than that in the comparison group, and so does GSP.4.FIns of treatment group has obviously decreased. Besides, ISI has greatly improved. However, comparison group hasn't largely changed after the treatment.5.TG and TC of all the patients have some decreased. But the difference between groups, with statistical analysis,isn't very obvious.6.There are no badness and side-effect in both groups.Conclusions:1. Modified BaiHu RenSheng Decoction can effectively improve the symptom-signs, especially polyorexia.2. Modified BaiHu RenSheng Decoction can obviously strengthen the insulin sensitivity and alleviate insulin resistance. Therefore, it can markedly decrease the level of plasma glucose, especially 2HPG after breakfast. Besides, it has a good effect on decreasing hyperlipemia. There is no side-effect at the same time.3. Modified BaiHu RenSheng Decoction can significantly decline hyperglycemia and improve ISI, which can have something to do with the amelioration of IR's associated dangerous factors, such as dryness-heat, phlegm-dampness, blood stasis and so on. However, concrete mechanism will need to do further experimental study. |
