Purpose To analyze the oral health related quality of life(OHRQoL)among patients with Chronic Cheilitis by using OHIP-14 scale. To evaluate the reliability and validity of the OHIP-14 scale in patients with Chronic Cheilitis, also explore the influence of psychological factors on patients' OHRQoL.Method 100 patients with Chronic Cheilitis diagnosed in the oral mucosal department of our hospital from January 2018 to January 2019 were selected as the case group. In the same period,100 healthy people who underwent oral examination at the Health Care Center of the same hospital served as the control group.General information was collected from two groups, and the OHRQoL status and mental status of the two groups were measured by using the OHIP-14 scale, the SAS anxiety scale and the SDS depression scale. The homogeneity of the two groups and the differences in OHIP-14,SAS anxiety, and SDS depression scores were compared.Analyzing the influence characteristics and influencing factors related to OHRQoL of Chronic Cheilitis patients, and to make a preliminary evaluation of the OHIP-14 scale applied to patients with Chronic Cheilitis.Result The scores of OHIP-14,SAS and SDS in the case group were significantly higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).The scores of seven domains in the OHRQoL were higher in the case group than in the control group.Compare the negative impacts proportion of each items in two groups.the negative impacts proportion of items: 3(appearingobvious pain)? 4(uncomfortable to eat)? 5(uncomfortable in front of others)? 7(diet unsatisfactory)? 8(interrupt meals)? 10(been embarrassed)and 13(life unsatisfying)in case group were significantly higher than those in control group(P <0.05).The Cronbach's ? of the OHIP-14 scale is 0.888,the Guttman's partial reliability coefficient is 0.909,and the correlation coefficient between items are ranging from 0.103 to 0.698.The Cronbach's ? is lower than the original scale after pre-deleting any item from original scale. The principal component factor analysis extracted 4 common factors, and the information loss was less than 30%.The Spearman's rank correlation coefficient between the OHIP-14 score and the SAS score of patients with Chronic Cheilitis was 0.509(P<0.01);The Spearman's rank correlation coefficient between the OHIP-14 score and the SDS score of patients with Chronic Cheilitis was 0.505(P<0.01).Conclusion1.The OHIP-14 scale appears to be good reliability and validity. When evaluating the oral health-related quality of life among patients with Chronic Cheilitis.2.The OHRQoL status of patients with Chronic Cheilitis is generally worse than that of healthy people, and is affected more in the areas of pain, function and psychological discomfort.3.Anxiety and depression factors are associated with OHRQoL in patients with Chronic Cheilitis.
